Haha.

I just watched "The Strangers" with the wife last night, and kept saying "If that were us the movie would have been over in about 5 minutes, or longer if you count the court battle that would surely ensue. (but my state is a "castle doctrine" state, so maybe it wouldn't be as rough a court battle as it would be in NY or NJ).

The video was pretty funny. Excellent example of the great 'equalizer' in action.:ok:

I like it. Of course a single round from a twelve gauge would do the trick as nicely.

And it might seem more reasonable to a jury.

it's probably harder to defend yourself in court if you empty a magazine.... much less a drum mag.

LOL

it was fun to watch tho

Yes, fun to watch. But you're right, the jury isn't going to like it if you seem to enjoy splattering the intruder into 40 or so pieces.

And of course you wait quietly until the intruder enters the door then shoot.

Wouldn't that be nice?

If we actually had access to a "jury of our peers"?!

I pray I get called for a jury duty on a home defense case........ I would sing the moody blues to the lawyers during the selction process thinking they got some liberal muckety muck.

Once on the jury in 2 days I will have those candy@$$e$ moving in lock step.

I gurantee the defendent will walk.

I don't know how to respond -- except with a clip from another movie I saw on DVD recently... a similar theme, here a 3-minute clip from a full-length feature movie... less sexy and a different cast, a good movie I felt.

"I'm not Arnold Schwarzenegger, I'm not an action hero," said the five foot three inch (160 cm) tall actress, who previously tried catch a serial killer in "The Silence of the Lambs" (1991).

The vigilante film by Irish director Neil Jordon is reminiscent of cult classics "Death Wish" (1974) starring Charles Bronson, and "Taxi Driver" (1976) starring Robert De Niro, and of course, a much younger Foster.

"It's a very sophisticated movie that lives in a very unsophisticated genre," said Foster, describing an "ambivalence in the characters" and violence sure to give moviegoers a "very primal experience."

The film "is a mainstream and commercial movie that people will connect in a general way and a thinking man's movie," she said.

As well, "Who has the right to rule over mankind and who has the right to stand up when something goes wrong? Does God have the right to bring to justice or does man have the right to rule himself," said co-star Terrence Howard.

"There's a strange dichotomy between the law of nature and the law of man and we try to walk this line. And there shouldn't be a difference between the two,"
he commented.

"It's a weird place to sit, wondering who's right and who's wrong."

Foster's character Erica, a gentle New York radio talk-show host who goes on a killing spree after she is she attacked and her fiance is murdered during a walk in the park, is "absolutely beautiful and absolutely monstrous," she said.

A good movie to see with the WIFE? :s1:

Screw Jodi Foster......

She is Anti Gun....

But as you can see she has no problem whatsoever "packing some heat" for the silver screen to bring home a nice fat paycheck.

Two faced witch.

I thought this thread was going to be about the 80's cult classic Breakin'

I have to admit I made my dad take me to see it. (I was 8 years old)
